THE PROBLEM
Fable Farm, a community supported organic farm and valued part of a small Vermont town, was threatened with regulatory action that could have curtailed its weekly potlucks and other community events. After years of careful and conscientious operations and development, the Farm faced a serious threat to its economic viability and mission.
BCK’S RESPONSE
BCK was able to help the Farm reorganize itself as part of a Farmer’s Market that was subject to far less burdensome restrictions. After preparing an extensive memorandum setting forth a suggested regulation of operations in accordance with the new classification, the Farm’s legal troubles ceased.
THE OUTCOME
Fable Farm, now expanding, serves as a model Community Supported Agriculture Organic Farming Project. Client: Fable Farm Date: 2013-present Service: Environmental Law
